NEW ZEALAND SERIES

Art in Aotearoa

Since making Wellington their home, Heimler and Proc have created a diverse body of work shaped by the landscapes, people, histories and cultures of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Across these painting series, their distinctive figurative style explores themes of identity, belonging, cultural encounter and contemporary life. New Zealand landscapes, native flora and birdlife sit alongside references to art history, migration and the artists’ own European heritage, creating an evolving visual dialogue between cultures and place.
